President's Letter

Dear Fellow Chapter members,

Spring is right around the corner and all of us are gearing up for the golf season. We have gotten some welcomed and much needed rain over the winter and many of the state lakes have refilled, but our water woes are not over. As you may know, the allied water council has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into lobbying the state on behalf of Georgia Golf. The GGCSA and GSGA have really done great work to let the state know the value of Golf in Georgia and that hard work is paying off. The Allied water council drafted a letter to the state EPD that was well written and informative, explaining the needs and impact of our industry. The letter is a part of the Peach Review this month. The future of golf depends on good water legislation. I hope that you as managers will stay informed and active.

We have had great reviews on our educational programs lately and our attendance at CMAA meetings has been good. We will have a great day with the GSGA at Club officer’s day in April.

Please check your e-mail and mail for upcoming meetings and events. Joe Krenn announced the date for the Peach Classic golf tournament at our March meeting. We will be at The Manor Golf and Country Club on the 18th of August. This event is our annual fundraiser so please participate, and encourage your vendors to do so as well.

I hope that all of you survive Easter and Mother’s Day!

Many thanks,

Gary Lanneau, CCM
